Hey Chaingers, we’re back with a new series of walkthrough videos so that you know the in and outs of the Chainge app before you start using it. When building the application, we aimed for elegance, simplicity and a natural flow so that you can benefit from an excellent user experience.
That being said, today’s topics revolve around the User Profile section and its v1 functionalities - which you will be able to easily master in a matter of minutes.
Profile settings and preferences
1. Tap your profile picture in the upper left corner which will take you to your profile
2. Tap the edit profile icon. This is where you can change your user name and your profile picture
3. Go back to your profile and tap “My QR Code”. This will show you your QR code which you can have your friends scan in order to connect.
4. From your profile you can also select your Language, customise your Notification Settings, change your Passcode and read the about section
Moving forward we’re going to tackle the Account mode switch from beginners to experts mode. After on-boarding your account will be by default in beginners mode (recommended). This change can be done if you want to manage your wallet using a seed phrase you’ll personally store instead of having it backed up on the Chainge servers. Switching to experts mode implies additional responsibilities so please be cautious when performing this action and take note of the important notice screens.
Switching from beginners to experts mode, creating a new wallet & downloading the encrypted seed phrase via QR code
1. Go to your profile and click on change account mode.
2. The Beginners account mode screen will be displayed
3. Click proceed and read the warning message
4. After you check the box and confirm, proceed and then tap “Create a new wallet”
5. Read the new warning message, confirm and tap “Create a new wallet”
6. Your seed phrase will then be displayed
7. Then you can choose to write it down somewhere for safe keeping and/or even better, you can download a QR code with your encrypted seed phrase
8. In order to encrypt your seed phrase and download the QR code, you’ll be asked to fill in your password
9. The encrypted QR code will be displayed
10. Click on “Close” icon on header.
11. Return to Seed Phrase display screen.
12. Click on Confirm new wallet button.
13. Input seed phrase to verify it and your new wallet is ready!
15. You’ll then move on to securing your wallet.
16. All done, you can now return to your main wealth screen
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
The QR code seed phrase encryption method is as safe as it gets. After you download it you can save it in your phone, print it, or even send it to a friend for safe keeping. Because the QR code will be password protected. No one else aside from you will be able to make use of it or see your seed phrase unless they have your password.
Switching from beginners to experts mode & importing an existing Chainge wallet
1. Go to your profile and click on change account mode.
2. The Beginners account mode screen will be displayed
3. Click proceed and read the warning message
4. After you check the box and confirm, proceed and tap “import and existing wallet”
5. You’ll be asked to type in your seed phrase which will then be displayed
6. Tap continue and that’s it. Your wallet has been imported.
7. You can then move on to securing your wallet.
8. All done! You’ll return to your main wealth screen
And lastly, in case you want to switch back to beginners mode here’s how it goes:
Switching from experts mode to beginners mode
1. Go to your profile and click on change account mode.
2. The Experts account mode screen will be displayed
3. The seed phrase on the screen is blurred out and you will have to click on the “Eye” icon to display it.
4. When clicking the “Eye” icon, you will be asked to input your passcode.
5. Then, the full seed phrase will be displayed.
6. Click the “Change account mode” button.
7. Read the warning message
8. Check the box and tap the confirm button
9. Your account mode has been switched to beginners
10. You’ll then move on to securing your wallet.
11. All done, you can return to your main wealth screen
